Abstract

In the paper the problem of modelling and identification of a class of latent heat energy storage unit for low-energy buildings will be presented. The mathematical modelling was undertaken to describe a heat phase change storage unit (solid / liquid) designed to transfer heat from a heat carrier fluid to storage material and vice versa. In the paper attention is directed to the characterization of a single constinuent storage element, i.e. thin, flat container, placed in the stream of the working fluid and filled by phase changing material. The problem of heat transfer coefficent identification for considered models of the latent heat energy storage units is solved. The identification task is formulated as a constarained minimization problem of specially defined quality index of identification. The effective sequential algorithm of identification is given with the use Davidon - Fletcher - Powell as well as Wolf - Broyden - Davidon methods. Computer - aided system of simulation and identification with the use of IBM PC is also presented.
