Abstract

The XUV spectrum of molybdenum was observed with a low-inductance vacuum spark, by use of a 10.7 m grazing-incidence spectrograph. In the present work, 33 lines for 3d 9 -3d 8 4f transition and 31 levels of 3d 8 4f configuration in Mo XVI were identified. Among them, 13 lines and 22 levels are newly observed. The identifications were obtained with the aid of theoretical calculation based on the Stator-Condon theory of atomic structure. Observed and theoretical spectra are given in figures, and energy levels in a diagram. Energy levels and wavelengths with weighted oscillator strength are also presented in tables.
