Abstract

2-Chloro-2-0deoxyglucose (2-CIDG) and d-glucose were identified in formulated 2-[ 18F]fluoro-2-deoxyglucose (2- 18FDG) by gas chromatographic analyses (GC) and gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometer (GC/MS), as impurities formed during radiosynthesis. The impurities were most likely produced from the mannose triflate precursor in presence of an aqueous solution of HCl.
