Abstract

17αHydroxyprogesterone-4-14C was incubated with a crude enzyme preparation derived from a soluble fraction of porcine testes. 17α, 20α-Dihydroxypregn-4-en-3-one-14C was isolated as a main product and identified by its melting point, color reactions, absorption spectra in methanol and in concentrated sulfuric acid, chemical modification reactions, behaviors in thin layer chromatography and recrystallization to radiochemical homogeneity.
