Abstract

An identification method is proposed to estimate for the characteristics of high power amplifiers (HPA) with memory in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) communication systems. The Wiener-Hammerstein model (WHM) is adopted to describe the input-output relationship of unknown HPA and a polynomial model with memory is used to approximate the HPA expressed by WHM in base-band. Furthermore, the order and memory length of polynomial model are chosen by Akaike's information criterion (AIC), and the RLS algorithm is used to estimate parameters of HPA in on-line manner. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed identification method is validated by numerical simulation example.
