Abstract

The comparison of banded and unbanded karyotypes prepared from single cells of the HeLa line permitted a quantitative estimate of the errors involved in karyotyping transformed cell lines. A series of banded cells was analyzed to provide data on the stability of the chromosome groups and to determine the derivation of several marker chromosomes.
