Abstract

To identify genes differenzially expressed between favourable and unfavourable neuroblastomas (NB), microarray profiles of 476 NB specimens were generated. High expression of FOXP1 (forkhead box P1) was found in favourable NBs. FOXP1 maps to a tumour suppressor locus frequently deleted aggressive NB (3p14) and belongs to a family of winged-helix transcription factors that are involved in processes of cell proliferation, differentiation and neoplastic transformation.
