Abstract

This article aimed to identify the most consumed conventional foods and characterize this consumption in the city of Aveiro-PA, with the objective of tabulating and identifying the conventional and organic fruits, vegetables and greens consumed in the urban area of the city and their benefits to the health of the local population through a descriptive quantitative research based on the survey field research methodology. The preliminary results indicated little diversity in the supply of natural fruits, vegetables and greens in markets and in local commerce in general, however it was found that potatoes, tomatoes and garlic are the most consumed conventional products in Aveiro, and that most of the fruit and vegetable foods consumed are not organically certified products and are not products of extractive collection, however, the only means of obtaining organic products are home cultivation or purchased from local collectors.
