Abstract
This study presents the results obtained from a sample of 132 university students from the Basque Autonomous Region, regarding the degree to which they may identify with disabled film characters and the relationships existing between personal values and perceived values in said characters. Two scales were applied: The EDI (Character Empathy and Identification Scale) and the Val-Tv 0.2 value scale, based on Schwartz's motivational domains. The results show that the degree of identification obtained by the whole sample group with disabled characters was very high. In relation to values, the results failed to confirm the existence of a significant relationship between personal values and those perceived in the characters with which participants said they identified.
