Abstract

relationship among National Identity, Social Dominance (SD) and perception of Nor-mative System (NS) were analyzed in citizens of upper middle class from Lima (n = 156). Results show high levels of valuation and identification with the national in-group and there is consensus to recognize self-stereotypes of Warmth and Competence as the most representative of it. Also, a predominantly negative perception of ns and low levels of sd are observed in participants. At correlational level, results show that self-stereotype of Morality is inversely related to a negative representation of the ns, whereas attribute of Warmth is directly related to a positive perception of the ns, and the sd is also related to a positive evaluation of ns. Although ns representation does not affect levels of identification or assess-ment of national in-group membership, it will be linked to how people self-stereotypically represent their group
