Abstract
This research aimed to analyze the ideas and potential of the Restorative Justice (JR) in the Colegio Instituto Técnico Industrial Piloto (ITIP), located in the sixth locality of Tunjuelito district of Bogotá, with the background that the educative institution (IE) uphold two years from the implementation of the approach that has been institutionalized in the community handbook. This research was carried out following the qualitative method with a hermeneutic approach of exploratory-descriptive level, given that this is a phenomenon that has not been studied in educational institutions. For this purpose as techniques of inquiry were used the semi-structured interview applied to representatives of the educational community; the focus group, applied to experts, and the documentary analysis used for the revision of the community handbook. This process allowed the participation of direct actors of the educational community as parents, students in grades third, fourth, fifth, ninth, tenth and eleventh; classroom teachers, counselor teachers, management teachers; who through their experiences, ideas and points of view gave answers to questions related to the object of study. Based on the findings an answer was given to the objectives related to the ideas and foundations of the RJ that are present in the educational community, the way in which this approach is included in the community handbook, the situations in which it is applied in the educational institution; and the strategies and recommendations for enhancing their development. It can be concluded that this approach opens up opportunities very important to enrich the school life, expanding the education for peace and requires that the educational institutions to take this into account and deepen it to expand alternatives in addressing conflicts and in the disciplinary processes in which the rules of coexistence are developed.
