Ideal lattices in semigroup of doubly stochastic matrices

Abstract

In this paper, we illustrate the rule for finding number of idempotents in the doubly stochastic matrix semigroup [Formula: see text] and also locate the idempotents in the case of [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text]. Further, we describe idempotent generated ideals of these semigroups and it is shown that the idempotent generated ideals form a lattice.
