Abstract

Referrals for endoscopic evaluation of abnormal gastrointestinal imaging findings is a common clinical occurrence. Current guidelines from American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy recommend endoscopic evaluation of abnormal imaging findings if endoscopy "is likely to be clinically significant." To our knowledge, the relationship of prior screening colonoscopies and diagnostic findings has not previously been reported. This study aimed to determine the incidence of prior screening colonoscopies and compare diagnostic findings between those who had prior screening colonoscopy with those who did not.
