Abstract

Based on the impact of allergen driven conditions such as eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) and seasonal variations in dietary habits, the possibility of a seasonal variation in esophageal food impaction (EFI) has been postulated. Some studies have demonstrated a higher prevalence of EoE diagnoses during the allergen-heavy periods (Summer and Spring) whereas others have demonstrated no variation. We performed a long-term retrospective analysis to help clarify seasonal and temporal changes in EFI.
