Abstract
Video capsule colonoscopy (CC) has established itself as a possible and effective alternative to traditional colonoscopy, in selected cases. Patients with a high anesthetic risk, whose colonoscopy is not possible to complete due to technical difficulties or patients with inflammatory bowel disease, for staging and evaluation of disease activity, can use video capsule methods to assess the colonic mucosa, more conveniently and safely than with traditional colonoscopy.
