Abstract

Obesity is a well-established risk factor for adenomas, advanced adenoma recurrence and colorectal cancer (CRC). Amidst the current obesity epidemic, gastroenterologists are encountering a rising number of obese patients requiring colonoscopies. Existing literature on the effects of increased body mass index (BMI) on colonoscopy efficacy and outcomes are scant and conflicting.
