Abstract

Osteoarthritis represents a significant cause of morbidity throughout the aging process. Degenerative joint disease, particularly shoulder osteoarthritis can affect one in three adults over the age of 60.[1] In many of cases, joint arthroplasty represents a definitive treatment, particularly in alleviating pain for shoulder osteoarthritis. However, some patients may have comorbidities, such as allergies or severe medical conditions, preventing or delaying surgery.
