Abstract

Chronic pain is a common condition affecting 20% of adults in the United States alone [1]. While Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) has shown to be effective in providing pain relief, current measures of pain to select SCS parameters are dependent on a patient’s subjective report of a paresthesia (tingling sensation) that overlaps with a specific region of the body. Prior studies have demonstrated that certain electroencephalography (EEG) activity correlates with the incidence and severity of pain [2].
