Abstract
Chronic pain patients require a comprehensive treatment plan to address their physiologic condition and improve quality of life. A multimodal approach is needed to achieve the best outcomes in this population. The biopsychosocial model of pain emphasizes using a well-rounded approach to address all the contributing factors of the patient’s condition.1 Pain catastrophizing, measured using the Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS), is commonly used to determine the level of catastrophic feeling a patient has related to pain. The PROMIS-29 questionnaire evaluates depression, anxiety, and other quality of life measures related to pain.
