Abstract

Neuromodulation with tonic spinal cord stimulation (t-SCS) is well evidenced to manage chronic pain syndromes. However, for patients with post-laminectomy syndrome refractory to t-SCS, salvage therapies such as alternative waveforms of SCS (burst, high frequency, or multiple waveform) or dorsal root ganglion (DRG) stimulation have been studied. DRG stimulation is an emerging option for salvage therapy and was shown to be non-inferior and superior to t-SCS in treating lower extremity neuropathic pain for CRPS in the ACCURATE study. DRG stimulation’s use as salvage therapy for post-laminectomy syndrome is poorly reported. In this case, we present the treatment approach with DRG stimulation as salvage treatment for post-laminectomy syndrome refractory to t-SCS.
