Abstract

Dorsal column responses (DCR) recorded from spinal cord stimulation (SCS) leads represent a promising method of improving effectiveness of SCS. DCR may include evoked compound action potentials (ECAP), late response component and others. Late response component in the DCR has been demonstrated in intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) to represent the nearby muscle activation. Quantitative analysis between the ECAP and EMG components in DCR could reveal important information about target engagement. In this study, we intend to quantify the DCR with intermuscular EMG recordings to understand how to properly use the EMG components to better inform spinal cord stimulation.
