Abstract

There is only few data available how neuromodulative (spinal cord stimulation, intrathecal drug delivery systems) pain therapy effects the quality of life in patients with chronic pain1. So far, the ability to return to work after neuromodulative pain therapy has never been assessed. Surprisingly, the importance of employment to the quality of life is rather underestimated i.e., unemployment seems not only to have an effect on illness, but also seems to be the cause of it2.
