Abstract

A 65-year-old female with a history of levoscoliosis presented to the clinic with right sided low back pain (LBP) radiating to her right lower extremity. Pt reported a history of multiple epidural steroid injections (ESI) which resulted in minimal relief. Imaging revealed severe neuro-foraminal stenosis (right worse than left) mainly due to degenerative disc disease and scoliosis. Novel “reverse-C” positioning during transforaminal steroid injections was shown to open the right-sided neuro-foramen, especially with fluoroscopy before and after, increasing chances for a successful injection.
