Abstract

Lumbar spine surgery is a common procedure for treating disabling spine-related pain. Ten to 40% of patients undergoing lumbar spine surgery experience persistent pain following the operation. Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is a treatment indicated for failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS) with or without radiculopathy. The purpose of this review is to retrospectively determine the average pain relief felt from SCS implants after one or more failed lumbar spine surgeries.
