Abstract

Prior studies examining the impact of substance use on spinal surgery outcomes have often relied on self-reported patient histories, which may not accurately reflect patient substance use in the preoperative setting. We present a prospective cohort study which utilizes urine toxicology screening to evaluate the impact of marijuana use on patient outcomes following elective spinal surgery.
