Abstract

Besides motor, bowel, and bladder dysfunction, patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) often experience neuropathic pain (NP). NP can present at or below the level of the lesion, is alarmingly common (70-80%) and has a major impact on patient’s quality of life. There are few effective analgesics and no recommended interventional treatment options for NP in SCI.
