Abstract

Sub-perception Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) is now a commonly used treatment approach in the treatment of chronic pain.1-3 Fast-Acting Sub-Perception Therapy (FAST) is a new SCS method that utilizes precise stimulation field location and optimal neural dosing. Computational modeling suggests that FAST-SCS activates dorsal column axons and inhibits dorsal horn projection neurons via the surround inhibition mechanism. Recently published reports suggested that FAST-SCS is capable of provide profound pain relief with rapid onset of analgesia within minutes.4 Here, we present a single-center experience with the use of FAST and other therapies in the treatment of chronic pain.
