Abstract

Lead migration, breakage, generator site pain, and surgical site infection (SSI) are common potential risks associated with spinal cord stimulator (SCS) trial and implantation.1 In recent years, numerous wound dressing optimization techniques have been proposed to reduce these complications; however, many haven’t been utilized in neuromodulation. Our goal is to present wound dressing optimization approaches that minimize loss of therapeutic effect due to lead migration/explant and avert the serious consequences associated with SSIs.
