Abstract

A 40 year old female who came to the pain clinic for evaluation of long standing right lower abdominal, hip, groin, and medial thigh pain. Her discomfort was debilitating, and affected several aspects of her everyday life including standing, bending, and even mild physical activity and exercise. Over the course of fifteen years, she had tried several treatment modalities including acupuncture, physical therapy, occupational therapy, massage, medications, and steroid injections to no avail. She underwent radiofrequency ablation of the right ilioinguinal and genitofemoral nerves which did provide her relief for almost one year, but she was in search of a more permanent solution to her pain as she found repeat procedures quite uncomfortable.
