Abstract
Lexical decision making (LD) is a complex skill that is primarily facilitated by a left-lateralized reading network associated with proficient reading (1). There are two major pathways associated with the reading network: the dorsal pathway and the ventral pathway. The dorsal pathway consists of the supramarginal temporal gyrus (SMG), superior temporal gyrus and the inferior frontal gyrus (IFG) and is associated with pseudoword reading. The ventral pathway consists of the middle temporal gyrus (MTG) and the IFG and is associated with word recognition (2,3,4).
