Abstract
Life-threatening cardiac asystole has been reported as a rare manifestation of insular epilepsy [1]. However, previously reported cases were considered to have insular-origin seizures without invasive intracerebral recordings and therefore lacked certainty regarding the anatomo-electro-clinical correlations. We herein describe the first observation of ictal asystole evoked by pure insular seizures, which was proved by intracerebral EEG.
