Abstract
Icosapent ethyl is a lipid regulating drug which was recently given a green signal from FDA. It is used as an adjunct drug along with diet control to lower triglycerides in those patients who present with very high levels. It lowers the production and/or secretion of very low-density lipoprotein triglycerides (VLDL-TG) in liver and augments triglyceride clearance from VLDL particles.
