Abstract

The European Union's (EU) TACIS programme has been established and maintained for the Newly Independent States (NIS), since 1991. The PHARE programme was likewise established by the EU in 1989 however for those countries, becoming member states of the Europe. One priority of TACIS and PHARE funding is and was Nuclear Safety. The TACIS and PHARE nuclear safety programmes are devoted to the improvement of the safety of Soviet designed nuclear installations in providing technology and safety culture transfer. All TACIS and PHARE projects, dealing with Nuclear Safety are now available in so-called Project Description Sheets (PDS) or Project Results Sheets (PRS) in the Internet for everybody. JRC has created in the Internet an easy to open and to browse database which contains the result of works in relation to the above mentioned nuclear activities. This presentation gives an on-line overview of the app. 900 projects which have been implemented so far since the outset of the TACIS and PHARE Nuclear Programme in 1991 lasting until 2005.
