Abstract

"Kuznetsov Letter" — a new technique of icon painting — is considered in the context of the recently proposed concept of hierotopy. It is shown that the iconic imagery in Kuznetsov's writing is formed based not only on the flat surface of the icon board, but also on the three-dimensional space in front of it, and after it on the space of the irrational or sacred.
