Abstract
Before the Second World War, there were few occasions for educational film enthusiasts in Britain to meet their fellow enthusiasts in other European countries and little exchange of information or films — in spite of the existence of the Institute por la Cinematografica Educativa, a body set up by the League of Nations. I do remember meeting Bertil Lauritzen of Sweden and Ebbe Neergaard of Denmark and seeing some excellent silent films from Germany: ‘Der Schwirrfiug der Kolibris’, ‘Talbildung’ and ‘Flussanzapfung’.
