ONCE upon a time three interns, named Icarus, Kiwi and John, planned for careers in medical research.Icarus believed research was a matter of inspiration, not training. He had conceived a new approach to pituitary physiopathology. Theoretically, certain aminomercaptan enzymases might adhere the microsomes to the Golgi bodies in the theta cells, flocculating the desoxyribose nucleic acid of the mitochondrial nucleoli. These phenomena could be studied with the interferoelectroradiofluoromicroscope. With no research experience, Icarus prepared an impressive plan.
