Abstract
Abstract Three species of large, long‐legged Ibis, all with long decurved bills – the African Sacred Ibis ( Threskiornis aethiopicus ), the Northern Bald Ibis ( Geronticus eremite ), and the Glossy Ibis ( Plegadis falcinellus ), can be shown, from mummies, bone remains, hieroglyphs, art, and artifacts, to have existed in ancient Egypt.
