Abstract

A formulation based on the interacting boson-fermion model is given for systems in which boson states are coupled with one fermion (neutron) quasiparticle and three fermion (one neutron and a pair of protons) quasiparticles. Backbendings of negative unique parity bands in 129Ce and 131Ce are described by introducing the three-quasiparticle states ν h 11 2 × (π h 11 2 ) 2 coupled to the IBA boson system. Energy spectra show fairly good agreements with experimental data. B(E2) values and g-factors are calculated.
