Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics and problems of IB DP education in the field based on the learning experiences of Chinese students in a situation where the number of IB DP schools in China is rapidly increasing, and to reveal the problems that need to be improved. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, a research study was conducted on students who participated in IB DP education in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and Jiangsu provinces in China. Finally, the results of the study drawn through a total of 157 valid response questionnaires are as follows. First, regarding IB Learner Profile, it was recognized that the students improved with an overall positive evaluation. Second, it was found that the students' responses to the IB DP education were satisfactory. Third, regarding the problems felt during the IB DP completion process, strictly demanding honesty in the IB DP study was recognized as the biggest difficulty. Fourth, regarding the problems that need to be improved in completing the IB DP curriculum, it was pointed out that securing excellent teachers with qualifications and abilities for students is the most urgent problem to be improved.
