Abstract
In ELTJ 61/2 there was some information about scholarships to attend the International Conference. The 2008 conference will be in Exeter 7–11 April, and if you're interested in applying for a scholarship, Michael McCarthy has provided some more details. Over the years, the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL) has sadly lost from among its members and officers a number of figures who were and still are household names in our profession, and whose memory is honoured in the scholarships which IATEFL offers. The scholarships offer teachers who may not otherwise get funding the opportunity to attend the IATEFL Annual Conference. Readers of ELT Journal do not always know about these, so we offer here a summary and some background.
