Abstract

We recorded the horizontal and vertical saccadic eye movement with electro-oculography in 25 normal subjects and searched for the peak saccadic velocity. The peak saccadic velocity in adduction is significantly faster than that in abduction, but not different between right eye and left eye. Saccade amplitude and peak saccadic velocity were found to be linearly correlated.
