Abstract
Mystery series have been a favorite choice of juvenile readers ages ten to fourteen since the publication of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys over seventy years ago. Because of this popularity, the genre is an effective teaching tool across the curriculum when appropriate titles of good quality are selected.
