Abstract

• President Trump's Executive Orders 13,767 and 13,769 impacted teaching and learning in k-12 schools. • Eight k-12 teachers of English Language Learners were interviewed within six weeks following the orders. • Teachers used instruction to support their students and ignite academic engagement. • Teachers used curriculum and pedagogy as a stance of political resistance.
