Abstract
In this research, narrations about Prophet Muhammad’s unseen knowledge (ghayb) were evaluated. In this context, methodological perspective specific to historical research was strictly followed while narrations were discussed. The Qur'an was used as the basic reference source when the narrated narrations were analysed. It has also benefited from hadith and sources of Islamic history. As a result of this research, first of all, it is concluded that unseen knowledge totally belongs to Allah in the basis of Qur’anic verses and categorising as “absolute unseen” or “relative unseen” is not appropriate. From this point of view, prophets have just a grasp of unseen knowledge as much as Allah informs them. Therefore, The unseen knowledge of the Prophet Muhammad the Last Messenger is limited to the Qur'an. For this reason he never make a statement about the unseen by exceeding his authority. In this context, the unseen news attributed to him outside the Qur'an must be met with caution.
