Abstract

AbstractThe hysteresis loops and susceptibility of a ferromagnetic or ferrimagnetic bilayer system consisting of two magnetic monolayers (A and B) with different spins (SA = 1/2 and SB = 3/2) in the presence of the crystal field in the monolayer B have been studied. Within the effective‐field theory based on the differential operator technique, the effects of the external longitudinal magnetic field on the magnetization and susceptibility of the honeycomb lattice are discussed in detail. We show that by choice of the temperature the hysteresis loops can be varied over a very wide range. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
