Abstract

This study aims to analyse the process of discursive articulation of narrative in L'Enfant de sable and La Nuit sacre by Tahar Ben Jelloun. Our method of analysis, the literary pragmatics, integrates the enunciation, the social, political and cultural environment to the context of writing. The extension of the concept of context of literary work allowed us to study the discursive reference, the enunciation scenes, and the symbols that abound in the two novels. These are the elements that determine, in our opinion, the anti-realistic character of narratives and they manifest by the multiple factors that create the tension in Ben Jelloun's writing.
