Abstract
Hyponatology is a word I coined to help promote planned stabilization of United States and world population. Hyponatology is the art and science of lowering birth rates: hypo meaning lower and natal meaning pertaining to birth. In order to plan for the orderly stabilization of population on a voluntary basis, we must start now advocating two bio (natural) children per couple as a maximum. Even if, as of this minute, the United States had an average of two children per couple, we would continue to increase our population beyond the year 2020. Therefore, for earlier stabilization, responsible parenthood means zero, one, or two children per couple, with an average of less than two per couple. Our goal would be to have births (plus immigration) equal deaths by voluntarily lowering the birth rate. We would then use our time, energy, and money to increase the quality of life for a given number rather than struggling to provide sustenance and jobs for an ever-increasing number, predicted to be another 100 million in the United States in the next 30 years.
