Abstract

A case of young (20 years old) mole presenting with dramatic onset of weakness in all the limbs is presented. Patient had three such episodes in the past 2 years lasting for 4-6 hrs. There was no family history of such weakness. A diagnosis of hypokalaemic periodic paralysis was made. Patient was given intravenous potassium, improved considerably and put on acetazolamide prophylaxis. The case is being reported because of its rarity and academic interest.
