Abstract
Hypoglycemia is an important adverse event in diabetes management and limits effective therapy. Previous studies have suggested an association between hypoglycemia and coronary artery disease (CAD), although it remains unclear to what extent comorbid conditions explain this. We tested the hypothesis that hypoglycemia requiring medical assistance is independently associated with prevalent CAD (MI, ACS, PTCA and CABG).
