Abstract
We previously reported the excellent control of GBMs after hypofractionated high-dose IMRT, but also experienced more frequent necroses both in the high-dose field and in the subventricular zone (SVZ). These necroses were a serious problem and major cause of death in long-term survivors. Recently, a different effect of temozolomide (TMZ) on MGMT-methylated (Met) and -unmethylated (UnMet) tumors had been reported. In this study, we investigated the clinical significance of a tailor-made setting of treatment doses by methylation status of MGMT.
